Jodi Taylor:
Is there a floor map of St. Mary's? I can't quite picture where everything is. Thanks! Love your writing. LOVE!
Jodi Taylor
Hi Abbey,
No, no floor map. Only in my head.
However - for your own personal guided tour of St Mary's, up the steps and in through the front doors. Enter a vestibule where you will be wanded and signed in. Through another set of doors into the Great Hall where the historians work. Don't catch anyone's eye or they'll sucker you in to some daft experiment.
To the left is part of Wardrobe.
To the right are the training rooms.
At the back are the stairs and behind them, the Library. Behind the Library is the new Staff Block.
Just inside the door and off to the right is the dining room and kitchen and past them is the long corridor leading to Hawking.
Up the stairs to the gallery. Along the gallery - R & D is above the library, more Wardrobe of to the left, Peterson's office, Max's office and more lecture and training rooms are arranged around the gallery.
Dr Bairstow's office is at the front looking out over the drive and South Lawn.
Back downstairs again and along the long corridor to Hawking Hangar. The paint store and store rooms are off to the left. Security is to the right and then up the stairs to Sick Bay.
Mr Strong is down in the basement.
The attics on the top second floor (third floor if you live in America where they do things differently) are given over to staff accommodation.
The South Lawn is at the front of the building. The lake is at the front and side. The stables are at the rear with the barn, outbuildings and car park.
How about that?
I have to dash off now but I'll answer your other question some time over the weekend if that's ok with you?
Best wishes, Jodi.

Jodi Taylor:
Hi Jodi, I'm really sorry to bother you, I expect your extremely busy at the moment, but I've a question that is really nagging at me. What was it that Max's father did to her as a child? It seems like a big thing for me to forget, so I feel a bit silly asking (I blame busy mum brain). I've scanned back over a few books, but I don't seem to be able to find that part of the story.

Jodi Taylor:
Hi Jodi. I have become a huge fan of the Chronicles of St Mary's books, and I started reading them around the same time that I was writing my first book, so they've become a big inspiration and aspiration as far as cohesive plots with likeable characters. I wanted to ask if you sometimes get an idea, then work it into a St Mary's plot as you're already rolling with them, and if you have some ideas reserved for later?
