I read your book, Far From You, it had a really good storyline, and I really liked the book. I just wanted to ask, Was there inspiration behind this story?

Hi Ayla,
Well, first of all, I'd always wanted to write a story with Alice in Wonderland elements. I'd also wanted to write a story about a singer-songwriter. So I had my main character, Alice, now I just needed a story for her. I kept thinking about a story that had been in the news a number of years ago about a family who took the back roads in Oregon during a snow storm to try and avoid traffic. They ended up getting lost, and stuck. It didn't have a very happy ending, and I found myself thinking about them a lot, and what it must have been like out there in the wilderness, alone, stuck in the snow for so long. So those were the three things that kind of led me to write the story. Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!!
