I think the trick for writing humor is to treat it very seriously. After all, that's what humor is - absurd situations treated with absurd levels of seriousness. Try that and see if it's helpful at all.

do you have any characters like Jenny who like to pop up in the middle of stories? My character Jenny seemed to do that a lot usually just like a reference or a character says something she would say but the thing is I did not create Jenny until now....so, was that a character who wanted to be created? what do I do with Jenny?
