Sharon Kay Penman:
I have another question. Have you been approached with any offers to adapt your books into a film or TV series? With the current popularity of Game of Thrones, and the interest in Richard III after the discovery of his remains, I'd expect producers to be eager to buy the rights to one of your novels, especially Sunne. If this were to happen, which actors do you see playing the roles? And would you work on the script?
Sharon Kay Penman
Over the years, Ivana, there have been queries about several of my novels--Sunne in Splendour, Here be Dragons, Time and Chance, and even my mystery, The Queen's Man. But nothing ever came of them, although a Welsh writer labored heroically to get funding for a Here be Dragons film. I agree with you, think my books would make marvelous movies.:-) I have never even considered casting since we never got that far. I doubt that I'd want to work on a script, but I would want some sort of creative control to keep a project from going totally off the rails like Braveheart.

Hi Sharon, you actually just answered my question today. Thank you so much for your inspiring research and writing. You have set the standard for hard core historical fiction, and if you read my reviews of your books you'll see how much I love them! I have been a huge fan since my teen years when you first started writing. What is your favorite Penman work?

Did I read somewhere, some time ago, that you might have a new novel about to be published? It might have a title something like "Land Beyond the Sea"? Am I mistaken? I surely hope to see another 900 page story from you soon! I think I have read all of your other novels, and absolutely loved them all! Thank You!
