Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Michael Lauck I am a huge fan of martial arts movies and television shows, particularly the ones based on Chinese wuxia novels. Even though I speak Mandarin well enough to follow most of a movie or TV show, I do not read Chinese well enough to read the original novels and almost none of them are translated into English... so I decided to write something myself. I do not really call it a wuxia novel but it is definitely inspired by wuxia novels, the movies they spawned and maybe I drew a little from gladiator movies, too.
