Is this book fairly "clean?" What age would you recommend this book or series for?

I know some people (like my parents) would not like the mention of teen drinking, making out and having sex. I'm sure my parents would have burned the book and tried to burn everyone else's copy too. I think by the time kid's are in middle/high school they should know the difference between right and wrong and have the presence of mind to be able to read a book or watch a movie without acting out the less desirable portions in their own lives. This book does mention teens drinking in two different places and one of the girls does have sex although it is not spelled out in detail. It focuses more on how she felt afterward. These things are not a major focus and quickly passed so I'd say those things are very mildly used in this book. I just think it is good for parents to know it is there.

I do think though, that the valuable lessons that can be learned through this book well outweigh those other things. If I had a daughter around 15 I'd get her the book. My boys just are not interested lol(less)
