Jack Gantos I went to ten schools in twelve grades. Some schools were fun and filled with welcoming, nice kids and so I could relax and be myself and make wisecracks and have fun with my friends. But some schools were gray and not terribly welcoming and maybe even a bit mean and so the humor was put on ice while I busy just trying to navigate each day without feeling beat up inside. But if I had my choice--I'd always go right for the wisecrack. Nothing better that firing off a good witty remark at just the right moment. Thanks, j
