Carissa (Regency Woman)
Carissa (Regency Woman) asked Elizabeth Camden:

Have you ever considered writing a book solely from the male perspective? I always find those types of books so fascinating and very few authors write them in the historic genre. Thanks!

Elizabeth Camden Hi Carissa.... I don't think I would have the self-discipline to pull this off! I love writing male characters and scenes from their point of view are my favorite to write, but I would not be able to resist getting inside the female lead's head. Also, from a practical point of view, I don't think my editor would permit it. Most of my readers are women, and the publisher's assumption is that they may think it would make the book less marketable. My first novel (The Lady of Bolton Hill) was written primarily from the male POV, and I titled it "The Robber Baron." I was given a quick-and-dirty about the realities of the publishing world when they asked me to add more female POV scenes, gave it a new title, and an ultra-feminine cover. At this point in my career, I try to play nice with the publishers!
