Write and read. Not just your own work, but anything you can get your hands on. You never know when inspiration will hit, so read, research, write, practice, critique your own work and ask for a critique from others, it is important to have someone look at your work and help you with some constructive evaluation. A first draft is never good, it takes a long time to get it from a draft to the final product, don't be afraid tear it to shreds if that is what is needed. Just keep going at it.

Amanda I am interested to read that you have written many books on true crime of which the Graeme Thorne kidnapping/murder was one. At about the same time in Sydney another murder of a well known surgeon, a Dr James Yeates, took place. A book called The needle in the Heart was written about it by Candace Sutton. I was wondering if you are at all familiar with this murder and the book ? Regards David Yeates
