Hi! :) First of all - a very big thank you. You totally made my childhood and you're one of the reasons (probably the second one, just behind my mom) for which I started loving books. Well, I'm a bit older now and I still enjoy your work very much. Now - the question - when did you start writing? Did you like it as a kid? Oh, I have one more - will you ever come back to the characters from the "Inkworld" trilogy?

Hi:)
First question:
I was quite old when I started writing (except for one short story at 17 which is luckily lost) I was 28, when I was so bored by the stories I received as an illustrator, that I decided to write my own stories. The writing became more and more important and finally pushed the illustrator aside. She is coming back very strongly though:)
2nd question:
No, I was not at all a writing kid. I was the one sketching all the time:)
3rd question
Yes, I am currently writing a story set five years after Inkdeath:)

Hi, Ms Funke!!
I'm asking another question because I realized you could even ASK an author a question. =0
One of my friends, Callie, is a big fan of Inkheart and would like to ask you the following.
"I think I would ask her where Meggie is now. Is she a bookbinder, like her dad? Does she have kids?"
Please answer, for a good friend.

Hi! I absolutely LOVE your book, Dragon Rider! It was one of the reasons I fell in love with books. You're such an inspiration! And you are funke-y! (Get it? FUNKe-y? Bet you haven't heard that before!) I also love Thief Lord, which doesn't seem to be mentioned so much in the questions below. What do you feel is your biggest success so far? Will Dragon Rider be a trilogy, duology, etc? Thank you for reading this!!

May I just say that it is an honor to be writing to you. I've been a fan since I picked up Inkheart back in the seventh grade. Your books are literally magic spun by gold. I was looking through my copy of Inkheart and on page 143, where Mo was talking about the little glass man appearing and the mailman disappearing, and that got me thinking. I know the mailman is not important, but whatever happened to him?
