Hi Rudyz, definitely, yes, but if I told you which ones my life would be at risk! The truth is that sometimes I start with real people, then exaggerate certain traits so that they don't recognise themselves (not often, anyway). It means that the characters feel real when I begin to work with them and then they move away from me and stand on their own two feet. When I was deep into writing each of the Tunnels books, it was pretty weird to cut myself off from the world and spend all my days with imaginary friends, but I found it helped me get through the writing process. My sons thought I was mad, and I probably was - a little. Kind regards, Roderick
