I know this may have been asked of you before now, but where did the idea come from to write the Tunnels series? By the way, I'm a mum of 2 young boys and we loved this story. Regards, Tracy
Roderick Gordon
Hi Tracy, it was born out of some very hard work one day when I was digging and becoming very hot and tired, and my mind started to wander and I dreamt up the Will Burrows character. The other part of the equation was what Brian WIlliams had heard about the Williamson tunnels in Liverpool - there had been various myths knocking around about them while he was growing up, but the one that caught both our imaginations was when some workmen had been working on a road and unexpectedly knocked through to a cobbled street below. I never knew if the story was really true, but it sparked the idea for the Colony, and gave us the impetus to start the story. Do say hello to your boys from me! Kind regards, Roderick

When searching for your book on Amazon dot com by typing exactly, Summerhouse Land, I get: 1-16 of 321 results for "summer house land" which is not what I typed and shows a lovely list of beach house books. Huh? For some reason, Amazon separates Summer and House as separate words. You or your publisher or might contact: Submit Content Corrections and tell them the problem. Just thought you should know. -Cheers

I'm a sixth grader and I loved your books and I read all of them, so when you left us readers on a cliffhanger in the last book, about how Will was becoming like a Styx and how the earth began its journey home, so I was wondering if you could write a seventh book? Sincerely, Mohith, a loyal reader.
