This is tricky to answer ... My current story is under wraps, but I can tell you that it's a sci fi romance. My original idea was I should write a story about a female paranormal detective. Though it seemed good in theory, the character never really came alive.
That's when the funny thing happened. My character's love interest was a girl who acted as a butler/chauffeur to her eccentric uncle, a retired gay gentleman explorer. Before I knew what was happening, I was far more interested in the uncle than the two girls, and a whole new saga popped into my head.

Hi Rachael. I'm asking this question of several writers, some friends, some strangers... Do you consider your writing process a "spiritual" practice? If yes, what makes it so? If no, why not?
