That's possibly one of the hardest questions I've been given, since I don't tend to read fiction with happy couples! Sterling friendships, yes, but romantic relationships you can aspire to are few and far between.
When I was a child I used to hanker after a relationship like Uncle Parker and Aunt Celia's in the Bagthorpe Saga. He dotes on her and indulges her every whim - but that doesn't seem particularly healthy from an adult perspective. Especially when you consider their daughter Daisy is a one kid natural disaster ...

Hi Jason,
Interesting question! I'm something of an agnostic, so don't dwell overmuch on spiritual matters, but can understand why other people might feel that way. Then again, who knows where inspiration comes from?

Anything and everything. A song on the radio, an article, an anecdote in a non fiction book. Ideas are all around us, waiting to be caught.

A novella inspired by one of Jung's most intriguing cases, with a sapphic twist. I love the era leading up to the First World War but it rarely features in stories for some reason - psychology and women's suffrage seem the perfect blend to me!
After that I'll start work on a dramedy set in an SEO company. I've various ideas but haven't actually started writing yet.

Read everything you can. Practice. Never give up.

First of all, don't torment yourself. That makes you even more wound up and stressed. You can't be expected to create under such conditions.
Do anything else instead. Read. Listen to music. Watch films in your favoured genre. Read strange news stories. Have a mini sabbatical, almost; pursue other interests. If you have a blog, keep it - it'll allow you to hone your writing muscle without feeling the pressure of deadlines.

I love being able to create new worlds and chase ideas to their logical conclusion, but the best thing about writing is that you're never bored. As long as you have a pen and a piece of paper, you'll always keep yourself entertained.
Even if what you've written doesn't seem much good at the time, hold onto it. You never know when it might provide the germ for a story.

This is tricky to answer ... My current story is under wraps, but I can tell you that it's a sci fi romance. My original idea was I should write a story about a female paranormal detective. Though it seemed good in theory, the character never really came alive.
That's when the funny thing happened. My character's love interest was a girl who acted as a butler/chauffeur to her eccentric uncle, a retired gay gentleman explorer. Before I knew what was happening, I was far more interested in the uncle than the two girls, and a whole new saga popped into my head.
