asked:
I like mysteries, but I don't like graphic violence? Does this book graphically describe the murders or is it more about the intricacies of solving, etc.? Thanks

It is gruesomely graphic. I like crime novels and had read reviews mentioning grisly details, but I did not expect the extreme brutality and very detailed violence throughout the book. I found it very disturbing and will not read any more books in the series.
Sel En Sam
Yes. I won't read another book by her. Even though the story is good and she writes very well.
Diane
Yes, very graphic. Very disturbing and disgusting! Not really stuff I like to listen to.
Sarah Rodriguez
Call me crazy, but I don't mind thriller/suspense novels that are graphic. It's not for everybody that's for sure, but it always keeps the stories interesting.
The Royal Bacon
Graphic in violence as well as adult themes and other stuff you might find disturbing. Not for the light heartet.

there are definitely some graphic scenes in this book...I kept having to put this book down because of it. I found it very disturbing.
Juanita Cushing
Read the first few chapters and returned it to the library. Utterly depressing and graphic.

If you're concerned, skip it and try the second book in the series. I actually think it is a better book...Less about gorey details and more character building. It has very little reference to book one. This was the book that got me hooked on Will Trent and this author is an excellent writer!
Jake
Not intolerably graphic.

It is graphic, but there is something almost matter of fact about the violence, which takes away some of the horror. The author does a very good job portraying the depths of depravity humanity can fall to, without putting too fine a point on it

Hi Flo! I'm glad you asked this question. I have a similar hesitation about books with graphic violence. So, maybe I'll avoid this book for the moment. Have you tried Harlan Coben? He's got some solid crime thrillers, that I haven't found too graphic. Also, I always fall back on the cozy mysteries for something that is light murder (feels like Murder, She Wrote or a Hallmark Mystery Movie).
