(view spoiler)[Why didn't Grace call Matt's mom about Ash? He might not want to do anything with his kid but don't you think his mom deserves to know she has a grandchild and her daughter deserves to know her grandmother?
Or even if she didn't feel the need to do that, why didn't she try calling her if she really tried so hard to contact Matt so Dan can adopt Ash? (hide spoiler)]

Good question, April. I don't think these characters are perfect. I would have made different decisions too. I think Grace was uncertain. Perhaps she felt that it was Matt's place to tell his mother and Matt's business. Maybe she tried calling and never got a response and eventually gave up. Maybe she decided that she had to start making it about Dan and not fixating on Matt since she wasn't getting any replies from him. It's hard to say what a story would be like if the characters never made mistakes. Did Matt's mom deserve to know? Maybe, but there were a lot of injustices in this story that might have been less common today because of our access to the internet. That's why the internet and technology are themes. But you are right, they made some bad choices.

This book touched me in more ways than one....I'm still replaying everything and it breaks my heart they spent 15 years apart. Why 15 years? Is there a reason behind the choice of so many years? Also, I'd like to thank you for making me reconnect with Jeff Buckley's music, it gave me a warm feeling reading about Grace & Matt's love and listening to JB again. Thank you!

Have you ever considered setting the action of your book somewhere in Europe? London, Paris, Rome. This would be such a lovely thing to do. Also, I was wondering - do you always go for happy endings? Life isn't always so optimistic and "Before We Were Stragers" main characters could be less lucky in real life :(
