Johanna
Johanna asked Victoria Schwab:

Im studying my last year in school. My final project is on writing habits. Please answer my questions. How do you come up with the ideas to the book? Do you use your surrounding as inspiration?Do you plan the book or just write it? If you get writers block how do you handle it? How long does it take to write a book?Do you change a lot of what youve already written? If someone else reads it does their opinion matter?

Victoria Schwab 1. Slowly. I gather fragments of a plot/world/characters until I have enough to write the story I want. This can take anywhere from 2 months to several years.
2. Absolutely, but not always in obvious ways.
3. I plan the main notes in the story, but not every moment.
4. By determining why I'm blocked--is it fear, boredom, or do I not know what comes next.
5. It depends on the book.
6. Writing is re-writing.
7. Yes, but it depends on who that person is.
