This is a bit of an unusual one because it's part of a collaborative series. Seven authors start with the same premise: in 1964, one of the few remaining Canadian orphanages burns down and the older girls are emancipated, each receiving a "secret" about their past. Then each author takes his/her girl on their own adventure chasing that secret. My girl is 16-year-old Tess who gets an address that leads her to an abandoned house north of Montreal.
