Ami G I agree. I believe he was so stubborn to not show romantic emotions because he was set in following through wih his planned death. He always liked to …moreI agree. I believe he was so stubborn to not show romantic emotions because he was set in following through wih his planned death. He always liked to be in control. His words were the only control he had of his whole body. Not saying those three words was just as powerful. I think that the end of the book he was going to stay alive for Lou, but he didnt say it, rather he showed her by taking care of her future which was more important to him. (less)
