And like any username, it's chosen by the user to represent something about himself—to others and to himself. And like many usernames, what it says to others isn't always clear or clever or accurate. We're left wondering if Hiro Protagonist is indeed a hero or if he's as much of a blank placeholder for one as his name.(less)
