Was there ever a time when you worried your work wasn't "literary" or "smart" enough?
Or (conversely?) "marketable" or "accessible" enough?
Are these necessary concerns for a writer? Or do you find them stifling?
When these concepts start closing in, how do you work around or through them?
Of course! I think that is a battle all writers have to go through. But I'd say it's important to write what you are passionate about. The readers will come. When I am battling those kinds of insecurities, I just try to push past them. I write every day, no excuses. So even when I am feeling uncertain about a project, at least I am getting work done.
