Goodreads asked Clifford Browder:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Clifford Browder 1. Stick with it, no matter what. If one kind of writing doesn't work out, don't try to quit, simply shift your sights and try another kind. I've gone from poetry to plays to biography to novels to nonfiction, not that I necessarily abandoned one definitively for another. Sometimes you just need a change of scene.
2. Don't be afraid to network, to get to know other writers. You can help them, and they can help you.
