I read Penpal a year ago or so and I also loved the simplistic but highly effective writing style. I just finished The Dweller by Jeff Strand and while the story is completely different, the writing style was very similar and I couldn't stop thinking of Penpal while reading it. As a bonus, not only is the style similar but The Dweller is a fantasic book. Both Penpal and Dweller are in my personal top 20 books of all time. Hope you enjoy - let me know what you think!(less)
