The protagonist, Paedyn, is powerless in a world of Elites that possess all Kinds of powers. In Ilya, the kingdom, she has to pretend in order to stay alive, since if you don't have a power, you get killed...
One day, she finds herself thrown into the trials meant for Elites and basically her whole world is turned upside down.
