I was simply wondering if anyone had an idea as to who the lady in the veil is, towards the end of the novel? My guess leans towards Paraleia, Alexandro's mother, but I am not certain.

She was often perceived as a harbringer of a blessed afterlife. The constant reference to a veil, as well as the mention of the goddess earlier, makes we think this is a nod to the afterlife mythology of the time period.(less)
