Goodreads asked James Gilmartin:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

James Gilmartin I am not sure I buy into the entire "writer's block" conundrum. If you brainstorm enough before sitting down to write, you won't have a problem with writer's block. Now, with story development, I meet a blockade there, and I believe every writer does. For that, I'll step away for an hour or two and either take a walk, watch a movie, read a book, play a video game, see a friend, pray and meditated (on things other than the story), drive around, or play a game with my children.
