This is quite a silly question, but, I wondered: where did you get the inspiration for the loving relationship between Meggie and Mo?

Cornelia Funke Not silly at all! The inspiration was first my own relationship with my father, then Atticus and Scout (in the original book:) and finally Brendan Fraser, who was my model for a character who is sometimes so boyish a father that his daughter Meggie does some mothering:)

Hi, this really isn't a question, sorry? (mandatory question mark) I just wanted to tell you how much I love your books; I read Inkheart so many times as a kid that the binding completely fell apart. It, along with the rest of the Inkworld series, Dragon Rider, and The Thief Lord, still have a special place on my bookshelf and I'm excited to add the sequels! Thank you so much.

Hi Cornelia, I read the Inkheart series a while ago, and they were incredibly good, I very much enjoyed reading them. Where did the idea for the series come from? And, since it has been turned into a movie, does it annoy you that the movie changes the book?

I've only just found out that you're writing the fourth book of the Inkworld series and that is supposed to come out next year. I really hope it can come to Portugal, either in portuguese or english. I absolutely love the series and always will. I know there's an audio reading of the first chapters in german, will there be an english version or at this point it would be better to just wait for the book?
