I liked Camille a thousand times better after her exchange with Richard about sexism. I realize some people will be bothered by some of the ideas voiced in this part. How did other readers feel about it?

The only way she can be okay and live with what happened to her, she has to believe that it was her own fault. Surrendering control like that, and accepting that there was nothing she could've done is very hard; it can make someone feel powerless. At least if they blame themselves they had power in the situation. It's quite a common respons from people with PTSD from rape (and victims of abuse in general).(less)
