I don't know if I already asked this but do you ever do events outside of the California area? I live in the mid-north and I was wondering because I often times see you doing events on the east coast. Is there any chance you'd be able to do events anywhere else?

I definitely do lots of events outside of California--the only tricky thing is, I'm not the one who chooses when and where I'll go. Whenever travel costs are involved, it's up to either my publisher to decide (in the case of my tours) or regional festivals and conventions to invite me. So all I can really say is, "hopefully someday I'll end up somewhere near you!" I always love meeting awesome readers. :)

So, I don't like to read classic books -- I don't even like them, in fact. (gasp, I'm a shame to society! :D ) Anyway, my friend has been telling me that if I don't read those classic books (like The Great Gatsby, The Scarlet Letter, etc . . .) then I'm not a good writer. But do I really HAVE to read classic books to be a good writer?
