Amanda
Amanda asked Lauren Oliver:

Some of your name choices in "Panic" are very unusual. Well, I certaintly have never heard the names Dodge and Bishop. How did you choose these names?

Lauren Oliver I was actually living in Portland Oregon for a time while writing PANIC, and one of our next-door neighbors had a little boy named Bishop; I just fell in love with the name, and the way it suggested someone kind-hearted, someone you could trust. The name (and character) of Dodge came from a short story I tried to write years earlier; the name always stuck with me and I was glad Dodge had the chance to take the stage in Panic.
