I find inspiration in many different places, but especially in literature, music, history and art. I find the city of Florence to be tremendously inspiring. I find Dante to be inspiring.
I think you made a great point in your question - "you shouldn't give up." Perseverance is a key to success. Certainly it's good to have others who can encourage you to keep going. But sometimes you have to be your own motivator.
