Hello I am new to goodreads so this may not be the place for this question, but now I have finished all of Karin's series' and then Tess Gartiners' series, I am looking for something similar: not too romantic, fairly simple reads but suspenseful. I am trying the first in a Lisa Gardner series but so far am having some trouble getting in to it. Any suggestions? Thank you/!

It's a stand alone, but it fits your criteria of suspenseful, yet simple. I saw someone else in the comments recommend Karen Rose, but personally, I did not like her work. Her books are also quite romance-focused, so they do not fit your description all that well.(less)
