Do the Extraordinary Voyages series need to be read in order, or can one start with any of the books in the sequence?

Jim Mann They aren't really a series in the sense that we use the word for book series today. With rare exceptions, they aren't in any way related to one another. (The real exception is that you should read The Mysterious Island after 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.) It's just that all them are about incredible journey, whether a trip around the world, under the oceans, beneath the earth, to the moon, etc.
Sashia You can start with any one you want and it won't make a difference to your reading. I didn't even know they were considered a series.
Black Panther I personally feel that the Extraordinary Voyages series cannot be considered as a series. What we modernly identify as a series is an 'ongoing sequence of books having certain characteristics in common that are formally identified together as a group'. The Extraordinary Voyages series certainly does not follow the structure mentioned above.
