If I am 14, am I too old to read Harry Potter and enjoy it? I know that Harry Potter is a classic but I hope that the story or language is not too young for me. Should I read it? I tried reading Maximum Ride by James Patterson but the writing was way too young for me. It was more middle grade than ya. Is Harry Potter like that?

Linnea I am 22 and reading it. I love it, J.K. Rowling's writing style is very good so it doesn't feel like a children's book at all.
PlatypusPatronus You're never too old for Harry Potter. Anyone who loves magic, adventure and great stories will love it.
Molly Donovan My mom read it! At any age, you can enjoy it!
Nadine I am 36 and am reading the series for the first time and loving every moment of it.
Amisha I totally don't think you're too old to read it! Harry Potter is kind of timeless and ageless. I do not, however, think that it'll give off the YA effect you might be desiring, but at the same time, it doesn't feel like a total children's book. Especially if you read the entire series. Harry does start of at 11 years old, but he ends up at 17. The writing doesn't really feel juvenile I don't think. I say go for it! It's a classic for a reason (:
