Don't take this the wrong way, it's just a question. Red Rising is an "Over hyped" book I avoid because I have been a victim of hype several times. Not only that, but from other reviewers, Darrow is a bit of a Gary-Stu. He's perfect. While the premise for the trilogy is interesting, I am very apprehensive about reading it. Should I? Or do I just not read it?

I felt the same way after the first book, but in the first 50 pages of Golden Son, he screws up, he screws up really bad, as in plot changing bad.

So read it, its interesting, it develops characters more and some really cool new characters are introduced, Yes, I'm looking at you Ragnar.(less)
