Nothing ever in the f range, but there is low tear swearing (H---, D---). As for the other matter in this book specifically there is no graphic sex, but there are some things that are implied, such as, yes the one supporting character runs a brothel, and another character wakes up in a room in which he had been with a woman and there is a scene in which a young woman is almost assaulted. However, in the prequel series, The Ryira Chronicles, a woman is killed after being sexually abused. The second book in this series is too visceral in my opinion for the 11 - 14 age bracket of children. There is a torture victim described in this book and the occasional reference to adult themes. This is a great series don't get me wrong. The characters are fantastic and lifelike, and the plot is well formed and very engaging, so I would highly recommend it to any fan of Lord of the Rings and, though I have not read it myself, Game of Thrones. But it is not suited in my opinion for readers under the age of fifteen. But hey that's just my opinion. Thank you to everyone who responded to my question, your answers were invaluable to my decision to read this book and it is now one of my most favorite book series in any category.(less)
