What was it like researching for the more specific items in this book like building the piano or preparing animals to eat, etc? How did you do your research for all of this?

I also read a lot of books about survival especially real accounts, as well as some historical information about the American settlers for example. As for how to build the piano I made it up completely. I just tried to visualise how it might work. (less)
