Would this book be appropriate for a 10 year old?

Nora schenk I havent read this book, (Yet ;) ), but I asked a staff member of the library if it was okay for my 11 year-old sister and she said yes, though there …moreI havent read this book, (Yet ;) ), but I asked a staff member of the library if it was okay for my 11 year-old sister and she said yes, though there might be some violence and everything, she said, since its about dinosaurs, and mostly the carnivores aren't that friendly.
Also she told me that there would be some parts that will not or hardly be understandable for younger people.
I also think it depends on how mature the person is and how much they already know about the 'hard-to-understand-parts'.
My sister, for example, knows a lot about reptilians and stuff. I think she understood the parts with theories or something about that pretty well.
Though she didn't know a lot about the chaos theory, I told her what I knew and she got through it just fine.
in the book store close to our home though, it is marked as a 'thriller'.
are there people here who experienced it as a thriller or scary? (less)
