James Peters
James Peters asked Christopher Rice:

Do you stay in one place when you're writing a book? Or do you find moving from one place to another inspiring? Coffee shops? Bus terminals? The backyard...? Feeling Frustrated

Christopher Rice Write where you can. I've moved all over and tried different things. My first draft of THE HEAVENS RISE was written almost entirely in the mornings at a local coffee shop. There were advantages. If I could slap some headphones on and drown the other sounds out, it actually felt like there were fewer distractions there than at home. But then you reach your caffeine threshold and you've got to go to the bathroom but you don't want to pick up all your stuff and can you really trust that person a few feet away to watch your laptop? But breaking away from a desk has been good for my back. I'm a big of lap desks. And honestly, improvements in laptop construction have made it possible for me to feel more comfortable writing in a big comfy chair. Only recently have I been able to write on planes.
