Emma No. I read it at 12, and was completely unable to grasp all the nuances of the depictions of sexuality, religious sexual rites, sexual repression and …moreNo. I read it at 12, and was completely unable to grasp all the nuances of the depictions of sexuality, religious sexual rites, sexual repression and child marriage. College is the youngest I would say someone could read it and not have most of the content go over your head. When I reread it at 30 my mind was blown by how much I completely misunderstood.

And just so you have a sense of my standards, I would let an intelligent 9th grader read Lolita.(less)
