Don't listen to everyone out there telling you what to do, find those who know what they are talking about...(that's tricky). Find a mentor similar to your style.
Social media can be overwhelming and consume lots of time. Learn what you must do to survive, then pursue those avenues you enjoy. If you are stretched too thin, trying to do it all, nothing gets done. Choose the mode and be consistent.
Write every day, even if it's only a little.
Remember to laugh at yourself---the learning curve seems exponential at times. It will be become comfortable (and then it's time to learn something harder.)
