K asked Elise Kova:

Any recommendations on books with a female POV that involves fantasy/magic and romance while I wait for your book to come out (YA/NA)? (I was a reader on fictionpress, and I'm so glad that you've been able to publish Air Awakens and I look forward to reading it!)

Elise Kova Kavita,

Thanks for your question! I'm so excited that you're a Fictionpress reader returning to the series. Air Awakens is SO different from its original draft, I'd say that at least 80% of it has been re-written (even if the scenes are the same) so it's my hope that you can enjoy the series all over again.

Now, to actually answer your question. Female POV fantasy/magic with romance that's NA/YA....

On the YA side I can't not recommend the Throne of Glass series. It is split POV, however, but it's mostly told through Celaena's point of view I'd say. She's a character I didn't know if I really liked or not until most of the way through the first book. I think what I like about her as a character is you start the story with her really knowing who she is as a person and she's very unapologetic for it. It's a bit different and I was unsure at first but her quirks won me over.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Graceling series. It's sitting on my kindle right now waiting for me to have the time to read it again. But it had a great first few chapters, sorry I can't say more than that.

Also on the YA side with a split POV is one of my favorite fantasy series of all time, A Man of His Word. Dave Duncan does a great job with the magic system and I absolutely LOVE the couple in this series.

On the NA side I recently gave into curiosity and bought Radiance (Wrath Kings Book 1) and was surprisingly pleased with it. Again, a split POV story. But it was good enough that I'm looking into Grace Draven's other books.

Hope this helps and thanks for the ask, it's great to hear from you! Happy reading!

Elise
