Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

R.P. Wollbaum Growing up, I heard the old folks talking about life in the old days and some of the even older extended family members talked about life in the 'Old Country.' What did I know at that young age. Now they are all gone and can't answer questions and my dad had never been interested so he had no real answers. So I joined a Black Sea Germans club and started doing some research.

My father in law came from the same area of what is now called Ukraine and he and his friends told many stories about their lives back there and the history of the region. He claimed to be a 'Blood Cossack.'

So like one of my favorite authors Jack Whyte says, 'Behind every good story or legend is a Kernel of truth.'
