My 10 year old son has been assigned this book as part of a reading bowl competition. He is mature, very bright and in gifted education. I don't doubt his ability to read this, but I'm concerned about the emotional punch he might get from such violence and human suffering. He tends to be a bit sensitive. How graphic is the imagery? Is it appropriate for this age? Thoughts?

Next time you're wondering about the book they're Reading, you should find some spoilery review. :)(less)
