Britt Freeman this book is dystopian in the sense that the humans in its world have been disembodied by rapid technological advances, further disenfranchised by inc…morethis book is dystopian in the sense that the humans in its world have been disembodied by rapid technological advances, further disenfranchised by increasing corporate interests, and forced into the dark crevices of dark city-states to scramble together a drug induced diversion from modern living. at it's core its a heist story, a caper. at its core-core it's a hard science(what we used to call artificial intelligence) fiction tale with all the philosophical trimmings. less cautionary than 1984 and BNW in tone.(less)
