How do you get inspired to write?

Craig R Key Inspiration hits randomly. I can be reading, writing, watching television, watching a movie, playing video games, or just sitting around lazily. Then I get the idea for a situation or a character, and think on it for a while to build a complete story around it. Sometimes, but certainly not all the time, inebriation helps this process. Usually, I don't make an outline. I just will start writing and see where things go organically. So far, it has worked for me very well.
