"Sheepio." It is a real Italian name. I highly recommend the audiobook; Simon Jones is a brilliant narrator and it's a great way to navigate the language barrier.

Audiobook pronounces it "SHEEP-EE-OH", but the movie pronounces it "SKIP-EE-OH." Not sure what the official pronunciation is for this character in particular, but I think the 1st pronunciation is modern Italian and the 2nd is classical Latin (aka what the ancient Romans would have used). Considering the book takes place in modern Italy, I tend to say "SHEEP-EE-OH." :)
