Just because this story deals partially with the relationship between an author and a fan of dubious mental health doesn't mean that it is a retread of Misery. In fact, Misery deals with a battle of wills between the protagonist and antagonist of the story that lasts the entire novel, while a similar battle in Finders Keepers ends within the first 30 or so pages, and the novel deals with the long-term repercussions of that battle.(less)
