Andrew Jason asked Romina Russell:

Hi Romina! Hope the writing and editing is going well! As a fellow Aquarian, I was really captivated by the description of House Aquarius as well as how they ran their faction. I was wondering, which House was the most difficult to create in terms of world building? Is there any House that you dove into more when you were creating it or did they all have equal amount of frustration to put together?

Romina Russell Hi Andrew of House Aquarius! <3

Thanks for your question! I think the most complex worlds to build, as far as their social structures and systems of governance, were Houses Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius.

I think Aquarius and Leo were difficult because their people are divided into various ideological factions (Clans in Aquarius/Prides in Leo), according to their people's own choosing--in Aquarius, they follow their intellectual interests; in Leo, they pursue their passions. So for those worlds, after figuring out their House-wide organizational breakdown, I then had to figure out all the political and cultural variations for each faction. Which was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. <3

House Scorpio was another case altogether, and quite possibly the most complex to create, because while all the other Houses have central governments that oversee the whole constellation, Scorpio doesn't. Its six waterworlds are sovereign territories. Only the Guardian comes close to having central control, and even his power is limited. The Guardian's sole political role is liaising with the other Houses and representing Scorpio's interests at the Plenum (mainly figuratively, since he usually sends his Ambassador in his stead).

So on top of designing six different waterworlds, I had to come up with six different governments/lifestyles/etc--again, taxing but fun! <3

Let me know if you have more questions! ;)
