How do you stay so focused on the book you are working on with so many distracting things in the world?

When you do have writer's block, many people say that we should keep writing, just as you said so below. What do we write in those times of mental distress? <3 I read "Vanishing Girls" and "Before I Fall" and am hoping that you write books similar as those. They honestly spoke to my soul. <3
